I think the Chinese government has misread the political situation here in America. They want to wait Trump out and make a deal with a more friendly Democratic administration. But that depends on who the Democrats nominate. Elizabeth Warren's in second place in a number of polls, and if you read her position papers, she's even tougher on China than Trump is.
