I'm glad you're to willing to question them come mid-October, but if you knew how long it takes to develop these type products, you would already be skeptical.
General Dynamics bought Bluefin a few years ago in an effort to bring Knifefish to market. It took them years to develop Knifefish.
P&S and Wild Manta are not participants in this industry. Perhaps thy could bring SeaSearcher to market, but my guess is it would take a minimum of 3 years.....and that's a stretch. The communication system alone is as complex as it gets.
Here's GD's VP discussing Knifefish and how long the product development took. SeaSearcher is just a CONcept. The testing and development of the frame for the SeaSearcher is said to last thru the summer, but that wasn't a drop dead date. That's the ONLY honest statement I have seen about it thus far.
