IPIX doesn't have to put up one cent to develop the Brilacidin-UP platform now.
When people try to claim that this is a small deal, they are completely ignoring the fact that IPIX would have to lay out some real money to do this clinical trial. Instead, IPIX can just sit back, let THEM pay for it, and maybe offer clinical advice in the unlikely event AlfaS asks for it. And then the milestone payments come, and eventually the royalties.
So there is money up front, 24 million in milestone payments, and then royalties -- and IPIX doesn't have to pay out one cent for this giant step forward.
