############ One Hell of a Rooster ############
On this date in 1976 the late great Purgatory the Rooster was hatched. Why was he great?, you ask. Welllllllll, If a rooster is put around a new hen the first thing he will do is "run her down". Purgatory was a right spry rooster so I got the idea that I wanted to see just how spry he was. Soooooo, along with a friend, we began putting "new" hens in Purgatory's pen, one at a time, and he actually ran down 13 in a row. We did put a 14th hen in his cage but by that time all he could do was strut around her a little bit. I did think I heard him say, "Just you wait until tomorrow chick".
Whatever happened to Purgatory?. you ask...… He was killed in a barnyard brawl with his sons.
