Just a peculiar science-trivia buff habit I picked-up from my Dad (the smartest guy I ever knew), I reckon'. I come across these from a number of resources while trying to satisfy my unexplanably insatiable curiousity in all things odd , unexpected and new in science & biomed...to what end, I'm not sure. Like here, it helps at cocktail parties when the conversation gets dull, if nothing else
The wild & crazy world of QDots seems to tick all those buttons, all in one. Yet the oddest thing to me about QD's is that after this decade-long lead time, 100's of research projects/whitepapers & the myriad of apps it encompasses, hardly any commercial apps have come to pass...some ancillary apps in displays & only one primary commercial app that I know of so far: https://investorshangout.com/post/view?id=5432262
Which I guess, makes me all the more curious as to ' why not' & how is this story going to end ? It's not nearly as picturesque, but following the QD story with all it's unexpected twists & turns, reminds me of getting lost & seeing what breathtaking sight comes next around any streetcorner in Venice IT...
