It would make me queasy to have a good-till-canceled sell order in at 2, which is the maximum that some brokerages allow for a sub-1.00 stock, if I were not able to watch IPIX's trading throughout the day.
If you would be upset to lose your stock at that price, it would be good to think about what could happen upon great news and act accordingly.
Remember that the late lamented (now bought out and a subsidiary of another company) Dendreon went from 5 a few days before a big announcement, to 7 the day before the big announcement -- and then opened at 21 the day of the announcement. There are stocks that have had far more dramatic moves even than that.
I have no GTC orders in. It doesn't prevent them from borrowing my shares to use for shorting, as it might on NASDAQ or the NYSE.
