Bunch if sites say the wash rule applies so people selling shares to buy warrants within the 30 day window can't take the loss but everyone should figure it out and form their own opinion or talk to their broker or tax advisor.
Warrants
The wash sale rules apply if you sell common stock at a loss and, at the same time, buy warrants for common stock of the same corporation. But if you sell warrants at a loss and, at the same time, buy common stock in the same corporation, the wash sale rules apply only if the warrants and stock are
considered substantially identical, as discussed next.

I started watching The OA again with my wife who didn't see it. I can't believe the stuff I missed, but like you. I watched it all at once. For those that don't know, it's two seasons and I think 16 episodes. May be a few years before another season happens.
