Ohm,- I am not sure if you read about company Biotron, BITRF , ,It is interesting..
About a year ago article came with title:
" Small Australian company cure for HIV "
Stack went up about 2000% within couple of weeks.
They using their product BIT225 , small molecule that target viral-encoded viroporin proteins , and according to their research they targeting and eradicating virus from macrophage reservoirs cells , producing incomplete , noninfectious virus , and than our immune system recognize this virus and fight it .
They do show some positive immune responses .
It is able to cross blood-brain barrier and reducing virus in macrophages there , so has potential to treat HIV dementia we see in about 50% of patients.
-It didn't really affect VL, so must be use with other medicine.
-It didn't cure HIV in humanized mice in pre-clinical study , just slower rebound of HIV after HAART was stopped.
-Pre-clinical study didn't show complete clearance in cellular reservoirs.
But maybe dose can be adjust ..?? or need longer time ????
- in clinical study phase 2 done in Thailand , they have also patients on HAART during study and after , .
BTW they looking for BP to do together phase 3 in USA.
Any way some companies trying to go after reservoirs . This company if any real affect , will need to be use for longer time IMO with other medicine , so for CCR5 patients Leronlimab might be it.
