Given the results from leronlimab it must block CCR5 on CD4+ cells wherever they reside. Any CD4+ already infected will reproduce HIV but once the new HIV cells release from that CD4+ cell if all CCR5 receptors on non-infected CD4+ cells are blocked then HIV can't insert into the cell and continue reproduction.
On the plus side HIV is cytotoxic to the cells it invades and will kill it off shortly after it starts reproducing.
