China has plenty of ways to get back at US for treatment of Huawei
KEY POINTS
China could retaliate against the U.S. for its treatment of Huawei by making life more difficult for U.S. companies doing business in China.
The Commerce Department put Huawei on its Entity List, meaning U.S. companies would need to obtain licenses to sell it critical components for its products and that could make it hard for Huawei to get the parts its needs.
Analysts say China has encouraged consumer boycotts in the past, and used inspections and regulatory harassment against foreign firms and could so again.
