I have no medical background but read vociferously and have kept up on breakthroughs a bit.
I trade stock and started studying it when I was 11 years old. Reading 90% of the non-fiction in the local library when I was young has stood me in good stead over the years.
After several disastrous biopharma trades in 2008 I completely stayed out of the sector. Last year after several medical emergencies in my family I decided to switch completely over to biopharma. Since then I've crash-coursed on cutting edge medicine. What I don't know yet I learn.
