Hello everyone. I am back from my ordeal with the dentist and ready to resume posting about Univec. For those who do not know, on May 31st, the FDA is holding an open forum on CBD. I suspect that what they are trying to do is justify increased regulation on CBD products and how one can obtain it in the future, most likely with it only being available in very low strength without a prescription. However, for many dealing with chronic pain or are weaning off opioids, the higher strength products are absolutely necessary.
I find it interesting that the one CBD medication currently FDA approved and being sold (Epidiolex) is for all intents and purposes identical to a 3000mg CBD tincture sold by many companies around the country right now. What people should know is that Epidiolex sells for more than $2,000 a bottle. While the typical 3000mg of CBD currently sold by numerous brand names retails for only about $199, and many get it as much as half off when specials are run.
Do you think we need reform? Of course we do. The problem is our legislators still think CBD from hemp is somehow similar to marijuana, and legislators are afraid of the current strains of marijuana that are so much stronger than the marijuana they grew up with. Ignorance is the reason we are in the predicament we currently are in.
