AC, I think you are right about the shorts. I don't think it should be allowed to sell something you don't own hoping to buy it back cheaper or not at all. You can't do that legally with a car or house or any other thing why stocks? Its just plain evil to allow short selling in attempt to drive company out of business. Employees that pay taxes lose their jobs and suffer the consequences just not only the investor. It doesn't benefit the common good at all just the self centered greedy.
