Yup, you get it. There are a number of operating systems, even more browser, even way more versions of browser and then factor in the number of different devices and sizes which goes into the 100's. Then calculate the permutations of all of that. Trying to have anything work across everything, even a web pages is not easy and you don't have a QA team of 20 people testing it all.
Then factor in performance as everyone is on a different speed connection. Someone on a slow connection might not even realize how that impacts what they do.
I remember someone was complaining about a previous version only to find out they are using a 10 year old phone. What, you mean VERB doesn't work on my Etch A Sketch of a phone?
In development it's the 80-20 rule. Maybe 90-10. Try to develop for 80% or more of what people have or you will go broke trying to do the rest. As I posted before, even apple is not backwards compatible with their own products from 10 years ago.
People providing feedback do have great ideas and should share them with the company. I do think they are working on the website from what I see. Many companies will take 3 months to do a redesign.
