SOM is one of the commonest side effects of chemotherapy alone .
Such chemo drugs as 5FU,Topotecan ,docetaxel and others, are common inducers of OM.Most of this drugs are used in chemo combinations to treat GI , breast ,lung cancers.List is longer than you think
Another reason for OM is radiation alone as simply many folks with head& neck cancers are not candidates for chemo-radiation and are treated with rads alone .
