At a company I was at, we had an app that was typically referred to in the industry as a Brand Ambassador app. Instead of people digging up stuff off of the internet, this was vetted, approved, professional content that you could share, tweet, use to answer questions, etc.
When I see people tagging a video off of youtube and sending it to their friends or strangers to tell them about VERB, I am always thinking, how does that help promote the brand? Doesn't tell them much at all. I'd rather have the marketing people at VERB help me make the first touch point with someone about VERB the best experience possible.
This application would work for not only VERB, but for any company that wanted brand supporters to communicate and share. It is a vertical that VERB could pursue.
On another note, people have a picture of what direct sales looks like but don't realize companies like AT&T is one of the biggest ones in direct sales. Instead of the door to door and cold calling, they could use network marketing as another avenue.
