DECN may thrive on a 20-30% margin. They don't have to pay 25 director's, country clubs and bribes kick backs and all kinds of creative marketing. Has this worked so far. It is extremely difficult to penetrate a market that is mature. Biotechs that have raised hundreds of millions of dollars and have a better drug find it hard and most fail. The largest of big Pharma blow through hundreds of millions of dollars the first 12 to 24 months, and they already have a sales force.
What type of creative marketing will gain the trust of doctors? If Paragon is able to white label to major retailers that will certainly increase sales. A Lifescan deal would be a gamechanger. I forgot the Door 1-3 details discussed before, but a buyout would be terrific. I am trying to find out if the Johnson and Johnson salespeople still represent Lifescan as far as visiting physicians. That would obviously be important. Perhaps the resident cheerleader might know the structure of Lifescan's sales force moving forward. You can have the best devices in the world, but if doctors don't know about it will it matter?
