Google greenshoe on Wikipedia. I believe that is what is happening here. Could be wrong, been wrong before. I posted the link a month or so ago not really understanding that it would go quite this low but it all makes sense.

Everything is OK here nothing is broken. Volume begets SP appreciation. It is no coincidence we traded in the tight range we did.
