There are multiple mobile applications that exist with a single goal of preventing distracted driving crashes and saving lives. These smartphone apps detect when a vehicle is moving and are capable of tracking speeds and sudden stops. The apps then provides feedback on the driver's behavior. Some systems block calls and texts, while others score the driver on their distraction avoidance skills.
Emergency override is standard on all technologies allowing users to dial 911 if necessary. Unlock features allow phones to be used by a passenger or on public transportation.
