Sorry guys, I’ve been very busy. I was hoping this might bring sides to the middle. I’m really surprised you and misiu have not become friends. Despite the differing political views, I think you both are ‘good people’. I’ve been around forums 25 years and think I can get a good feel for people now. I believe Tom has different political views and they remain friends. Maybe he or someone will join at some point to balance. I feel you are outnumbered here.
I will say the American melting pot, it helps to have friends of opposing views. Isolation to one view point is not good, I speak from experience having been raised as a child in a cult that lucky has been dispersed now. Going through an experience where you think you are a small select few that are correct, everyone else is wrong (and going to hell), then realizing at some point, no you were the one wrong. That changes you. It helps break down barriers. It helps open one to the possible I am not always right. The more we communicate with others of opposing viewpoints, the more we might see, yeah, they have a point there...they are not all evil or ignorant...speaking from experience. College really helped me here. I made friends with Christians, Muslims, Jewish, atheists, Asian, Russian, Iranians, Europions, Hispanics, liberal, conservatives. I’m good friends with many many different peoples. We relize we have differing opinions and beliefs, but celebrate our similarities and diversity. That hopefully is the America of the future. We need to get out of our group and mingle amount the ‘others’ to bring perspective. Otherwise we are not going to fix it... we will just ride it into the ground until it crashes and burns. Hopefully it does not come to that. Just my opinion.
