I agree, it needs lots of improvements. 2 things off the top of my head is open state borders to promote competition and drive price down. If I can get insurance in Rhode Island that is Cheaper than California, I should be able to buy it there. Capitalism is built on competition. But with closed state insurance companies, there is no competition, so they can basically name their prices. The more there are, the cheaper the price.

The second thing I see as an issue is there needs to be more regulation on what hospitals charge. Now I do not believe in more government, but this is a situation where government can actually help. Paying 10,000 dollars a night to stay at a hospital is insane. I currently work in the medical field, and seeing how MAJOR hospitals waste money because they are a non-profit is ridiculous. They should be passing the savings or lowering prices, instead of spending money on properties and such to bring down their revenue to continue to be a non-profit.
