Real profits? As opposed to what? Unreal (phony) profits? If Facebook and Instagram campaigns are working so well, why not do them ALL the time. The reason could be that he is traveling and therefore couldn't ship product if orders came in. It's still a one man show. There is no one to delegate this task to.
I'm not sure how this gift card exchange is going to work out. The profits for existing companies are already ultra slim and they just work off of volume. You can buy gift cards for up to 15%-20 off of face value. What kind of discount can SB get from retailers? 25%, maybe 30% tops?
The return for selling your gift cards is up to 92%. You sell a $100 card for $92? However in most cases it's around 70%. So SB will try to entice customers to accept $70 for a $100 card. Kind of like a check cashing place. Then I guess he'll try to resell cards for a 10-20% profit.
Could get ugly if you are buying more cards than you are selling (if you are not paying attention).
