It seems pretty clear to me that management's rationale was as follows: We are about to start announcing revenues along with new deals. In the marketplace, things are taking off. However, the stock PPS won't take off in parallel so long as the current stock structure exists. It will lag significantly behind the revenue/profit numbers. The only way to address this imbalance is by addressing the stock structure issue pronto.

And so that is what they did.

This view of management's rationale is supported by the news about their being scheduled to address an investor forum. I agree; the two are probably related, i.e., the invitation to address the group triggered management's decision to address the stock-structure issue now.
