I know you asking BD , but let me give you mine opinion also.
Until new study will be done for those treatment naive patients , I will think that doctors can put patients on combo , this way they eliminate HAART medicine with the highest side effects , and prevent forming of resistance, and than , when VL is <50copies/ml mono can be tried .
Now when we know about different effects of longer overlapping with HAART , I believe thinking changed a little.
And for more often injection of 700 mg , new approved study will need to be done to evaluate possible side effect and efficacy...
And I do believe that some patients might need combo forever..
But for now lets have combo and mono approved according to present protocols ... ...
