Actually, it's isolationism and racial first for Trump. I know YOU think it's America first, but realize, at the heart of Trump is the need to win and be right, at all costs. It's what any narcissist with possible emotional disorders would do.
No Democrat or Independent is against intelligent, responsible immigration reform, as well as action. There is a problem. There is also ample opportunity to replace infrastructure, which is going on now, not the building of a new wall, which is the fake news your spreading. Hiring additional border security, drone tech, sub stations, rangers and site patrol. All possibilities to force illegal immigrants into legitimate crossing points.
Besides the minimum of 2-3 years to cease land, eminent domain and lawsuits to clear legal hurdles, will be another 3-5 years to build a wall. Not with Mexico's money, but with our tax dollar. A wall won't do shit.
