I have "suggested" a few things over the last year. Every time I did, I got attacked. Last week, Mr Havenstein went after me full bore for asking - sarcastically - what if tigerpac was right. He even questioned my successful career at Verizon or my smarts or both. I actually think "my career" at Verizon sometimes hinders my abilities to understand these OTCs and their management. We had enough resources to have all the bases covered at VZ. Big, successful companies tend to do things right - sometimes in spite of themselves or some ego maniac in a Senior position.
I have long thought that Steve did NOT have all the bases covered. He is a Sales person wearing the CEO hat. No one can wear all hats and wear them all well. We needed resources responsible for many business disciplines - but, we just don't/didn't have the money to staff those positions.
The TOXIC DEBT is unacceptable. At the very least he should have looked into Private Placements. I am pretty sure - not positive - that I could have offered names for PPs for far more money than he borrowed at his ridiculous terms. He doesn't seem to have a clue about Finance - among other disciplines.
Lastly, the one thing that Steve has failed at the most may be the most important for any successful business - COMMUNICATION(s).
Have a nice week!
