Gary, I have a weakness for creme brule and whipped cream on just about anything. The word "salve" happens to be a perfectly good word but why would you associate it and anything else OWC is currently doing with Ziv Turner?
A salve can best be defined as an ointment to promote healing of the skin. So in the context of its intended use it is, ironically, the best word to use.
I personally think it would be more of a marketing issue than anything else. I believe the U.S. frowns upon describing anything as a "cream" unless it contains dairy products. So they say creme, which to me is a dessert! The problem is that if they started selling "salve" nobody would know what it is.
The other alternative is to refer to it as an ointment. As long as the cash register keeps on making the ka-ching sound I really don't think any of us would care much what they call it as long as the name begins with OWC.
