It's great to see that you care. I once had 4 Jack Russell Terriers. They lived from 14 to 17 years, and considering that they were little hell raisers, that's not bad. They all have their genetic tendencies for lifespan.
My dogs were all well fed with mostly premium foods, and late in their lives I decided to give them some CBD oil. I gave them up to a small or "standard" human dose of 20 to 25 mg. with absolutely no adverse effects. The more hyper of the 4 seemed to be much calmer when it was in his system. Unfortunately at that time I was unable to afford this luxurious treatment for long, even at the lower doses.
I'm sure a lower dose is best for general wellbeing, especially in smaller dogs, but I wanted to share that my smaller breed dogs tolerated a larger dose with no issues. I agree though, food selection is a huge importance. I even gave my dogs filtered water to help remove metals, etc. It all adds up. If I'd had the extra $$ back then, I'd have given all of them CBD daily from the time I discovered that it could help with so many things.
