Where I grew up, we were a small town next to a small town next to a small town 50 miles outside Chicago, with corn fields and pasture and dairies between. Now it is just a megalopolis. Corn fields replaced by strip malls, gated communities, and apartment complexes. I'm in Minnesota now.
