Serious question - why does Trump and his inner circle lie so much? Trump lies sometimes and then lies about lying when there are videotapes of him speaking and saying 2 different things.
Most recent example is Otto Warmbier. He wasn't misunderstood or misquoted. He changed his story to suit his audience. I'd like to think that if it was his kid, he would go after North Korea.
Why do so many politicians lie in our era of audio & video & digital recordings? They know they will be caught and challenged - by the opposing party at least - and yet they still lie often. Then they lie to cover up the original lie. I guess they have learned that the American public will "forget about it" or they can use "alternative facts" to excuse it. SAD
