I don't believe the patent (which is pending) and trial are connected in any way. For example other companies are in trial with ccr5 inhibitors with cancer, though cydy owns the patent.
The delay I believe is all the testing

I know little about patent protocols, etc. My guess is RP's portion becomes cydy, but Cristofanilli gets compensated if this goes commercial.
