After re-reading the PR, I hope they don’t just take off the top of the old pad, as the bottom half, down to the liner, should have the worst of the chemically fouled gummed up soil, in my non-expert opinion. That’s where the precious metal containing liquid collects before draining into the pregnant pond.
The whole pad probably needs to be reconstructed.
