Re: Caruso - IBM

After reading my post where I posted the following:

IBM TrustedID

Unfortunately, Trusteer Endpoint Protection is currently not compatible with SentryBay. We are working with the vendor on solving this issue.

Caruso, you asked :
"what does rhis mean for STI???"

I have forgotten which Interview Kay STI or Waller BlockSafe, but it was stated that "it works with IBM Operating Systems" of which IBM uses at least 4 Operating systems.

I've worked in Mainframe Computers since 1976, First in Flight Simulators as they can process RealTime Data Fast, such as updating AirCraft Instruments Instantly and Aircraft Filght Data Parameters, we are not talking Microsoft here, but $60M + Simulators, and at the Space Center, in our Computing Center I maintained 98 DEC/VAX Mainframes along with many other Job Positions, such as Manning numerous Launch CoNoles during Launches.

92% of the Top 100 Banks utilize MainFrames

Most people are familiar with PC's and Server Workstations

For those unfamiliar with MainFrames,

MainFrame Computers Explained : (Trying to keep this Short)

MainFrames are often refered to as Big Iron

Banks, Large Insurance Compnaies use Mainframe Computers, due to the Reliability and the Number of Transactions it can Process. And the Number of User Terminals that can be attached. Usally a Mainframe is housed in the Company HQ, and every Branch has Terminals.

For more info as to how this affects STI see this recent Zpaul Post.

If you want to know what it's like to Fly a Real Flight Simulator:

The last Simulators I worked on were the Cobra, Blackhawk and Apache Helicopter Simulators.

Here is the Blackhawk Simulator :

The Simulator for the Apache cost $60M in 1989 Dollars.

If your the enemy and you see one of these, you just want to dig a Hole get in and Cover it, but you'll probably never see or hear it coming

Have a Great and Blessed Sunday Everyone.
