There are people who trade purely based on technical charts and do not know anything about the company. There are day traders that want to finish everyday with cash only. then there is the various OTC manipulations.

But I agree, it is a bit foolish to sell now even if you are trying to flip (I.e sell now and buy back lower if possible)
