First of all, TRUMP is a climate change denying moron who mistakes weather for climate. That's some simple minded scientific illiteracy that never ceases to amaze me.
Secondly, FEMA is best used for the hurricane belt and for those Red State trailer parks that serve as 'tornado bait'.
That said, I AM amazed at the hand wringing over cold and snow that never closed my parochial grammar school or HS.
It was a different time to be sure, but boots, gloves and earmuffs worked just fine for me and my fellow little 'Soldiers for Christ'.
I remember the air raid sirens every Tue at 10:30 a.m.. Sometimes we'd get in line and file down into the basement.
The joke was, yeah we were little smart asses, face the wall, head down between your knees.....and kiss your ass goodbye.
All that, and the constant haranguing by the nuns about the 'godless commies', hardened a generation that showed up in surprising numbers to fight a misbegotten war in the jungles of SE Asia.
