Why? Most would rather watch then read on their phone.

Just tag a gif or video, make them interactive and make life easy for your audience you are communicating with, now two ways!

Interactivity in gifs and video will be like when sound was added to movies. That much more engaging for the audience.
Take it one step further. When say 10%-20% of all gifs and videos are interactive, for the brands/people that don't have interactivity, users will click on their gif/video expecting it and will go someplace else. Lost opportunities.
