Hopefully you have recouped that money over the years, I was only 18 and knew very little about investing, but soon after I started some. My dad came to this country when he was 17 and knew nothing about investing, didn’t know English either. By the time he started investing it was later on and he told me if he knew what he does now back when he first started working he’d be retired and didn’t want me to make the same mistake. So whenever I opened up a retirement account the advisor would be surprised at my age, and say that very few people my age thought about retirement even though they should.

Both my parents worked their butts off for many years to get to where they are now and to get my brothers and I to where we are. That’s why this goal of returning the favor and sending them into retirement so they can do whatever and travel wherever is always at the front of my brain.
