i think your broker's system has an alert system for the advanced users to use for percentage changes in a ticker, alerts for filings by a particular symbol, alerts for press releases from companies in your portfolio.....
for example you rjs and i have etrade accounts (you have mentioned that in the past)....you can go to alerts, set and manage alerts, news....there you can check earnings, when in play, if a split notice occurs, upgrades and downgrades by analysts.....and on regular alerts, you can set for price per share, volume, percent increase and decrease....
just no press releases.....we have to depend on Docj for those....

Google alerts doesn’t work as well. It misses most, is a delayed alert, and doesn’t catch any filings. They should set it up on their webpage in a more professional investor relations approach.
