From a marketing perceptive, especially to marketing professionals, tag is way better than saying buttons or links.
When you drag and drop those interactive elements into a video you are basally tagging that interactivity so you can trace it.
Much the same idea when you create a web page or website you also add tags to your html code so the search engine can figure out what your title, description, keywords, etc. are.
