TC it makes sense though, otherwise the share owner could sell his shares on Thurs or Fri and still get the dividend, since the dividend has to be awarded to someone who owns the shares. That would have been a sweet deal last time if it worked that way - sell your shares on Friday morning for 18 but still get the dividend!

Actually last time when I bought more on Friday morning I held my breath, wondering if I would really get them. But it worked out easily.
