Does the one year rule also apply to dividend shares...ie, that if you sell any of the divi shares prior to holding for a full year, they become income rather than capital gains?

I have assumed that is the case (I wasn't planning on selling any anyway - I want to see how this plays out over the next 2 - 3 years) but maybe they are treated differently than shares purchased outright. I guess....you should see your tax professional for information about your specific case.
