'They Don't Feel Subject to Their Own Standards'
Historian Victor Davis Hanson said Wednesday that those on the left who claim the right wing is "racist" and led by a discriminatory leader in President Donald Trump are not held to their own standards.
He said members of the "progressive" left see themselves as "arbiters of morality" but are often silent on their own immoral figures such as movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
"They don't feel subject to the same standard they demand of others. We've got to figure out what the rules are," he said in response to a clip of former Bush communications director Nicolle Wallace claiming there are no strains of racism "on the left."
He pointed out that Wallace apparently missed New York Times writer Sarah Jeong saying she "hates" white people and "compared them to dogs urinating on hydrants."
Hanson added that prior to the 2008 election, then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) complimented then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) as "the first black [presidential] candidate" who was "clean."
