Typical....overlooking the reason for protecting the migrating fish.
Economics. The fish are caught by fisherman and they are bought by consumers and restaurants. Big business in that part of the country, big consumption across the country.
Sea lions are not part of our food chain and control of their population does not endanger them as a species, much less cause economic hardship.
Try thinking things though once and awhile.
