Actually, the shut-down is an ego driven thing from a little man who made a promise. Trump, being the narcissistic, self-centered individual he is, cannot let his base down. He knows he must keep up the rage of his supporters and not getting the wall built will hit his over blown ego and erode his support. We knew it would be a lie from the beginning. We knew the Mexican Govt would tell Trump to shove it, and they did. So Trump wiggles and squirms and continues to con his base by saying the new and improved NAFTA will pay for his wall. Trump is a double talking, lying expert. Defections have begun in the House. It would not surprise me if the Senate slips as well.
