Re: Goodspeed65 #56853
We hired an architect to design our new home and paid him $10,000 for the plans. Things went along good until the head of the carpenter crew said there is a problem with the roof design.
This was a single level home with 20 ft. ceilings in the living and dining rooms. At the joint between the living room and master bedroom, the fireplace chimney blocked all drainage from one section. Water had no place to drain!
We took the plans back to the architect and pointed out the problem. Meanwhile construction stopped. He agreed there was a problem and said he would have corrected plans done in a week.
Well it took him a month! And then he sent us a bill for $3,000 for "revised" plans "per customer request for "changes"!
Well we stiffed that architect as we didn't request changes, we requested corrections for faulty plans!
