World's Inc (OTCQB:OTCQB:WDDD) current management back in 2011 spun off a company that is now called MariMed (OTCQB:OTCQB:MRMD) while retaining a large number of shares. Worlds Inc owns 4.2 million shares ($22m) of MariMed giving them growing assets in the red hot cannabis space and a book value well over the current share price. Worlds Inc filed suit against Activision back in 2012 and recent positive developments put a potential trial date in 2019.
The technology in question was patented by Worlds Inc in 1996 and is the basis for every multi role playing game created since. In 2015 both the Worlds of Warcraft and Call of Duty franchises were added to the suit.
The point here is that the courts ruled the patent infringement lawsuit can proceed, and a trial is set for some time in 2019.
What will WDDD do with their shares? If WDDD wins this lawsuit, will it increase its holdings in MRMD? MRMD has been bottoming for some time now, and is due for a reversal. Could this be the match that sets the keg of gunpowder on fire? If so, could MRMD become the next ten bagger? Stay tuned.
