I tried to transfer penny stocks (with Etrade) and they won't let you do it (because they're afraid of fraud, -i.e. someone counterfeiting shares). Other brokerages I talked to have the same policy.
The only transfers (for penny stocks) that Etrade would do was to another account within Etrade.
Etrade also told me that when a stock (like SFOR in the future) gets listed on a major exchange like NYSE or NASDAQ, then they will let you transfer it.
