Is the word Bravo Italian?
There is something more on the etymology on this Italian Etymology Dictionary, but it's in Italian. I'll link something more if I find it. I suppose it comes from Italian: in Italian bravo means “good, clever”, and it is probably diffused in spectacles due to the italian origin of the opera.
