I might add that if I were in the know of oil rig piping material and it's proper usage and was already so concerned at that level of detail then as an investor I would sell and get out.  Anyone not capable of looking at the big picture and believing his/her investment hinges on piping material might not have the stomach for the risks involved.  Personally I won't "sweat the small stuff" and let the subject matter experts pick the piping materials.
