It's always good if there is more than one treatment for a condition, because not everything works for everyone. So there's room for their garbage, especially if someone is so sick (unconscious) that they can't do the rinse, or for some reason they have such a bad case that they try BOTH treatments at the same time.

But it's sure a lot easier, cheaper, and safer to use an oral rinse than to take the chance of infection and systemic exposure that an IV drug like theirs entails.
